Anything We Missed?
1. Is this really free?
Yes — 100% free to attend, every Thursday. No catch, no surprise fee at the door. At the end of the night, we graciously extend an invitation to join the paid LBY Community— but showing up and receiving the free gift costs you nothing.
2. How long is the event?
60 minutes, 7:30–8:30 PM EST. We respect your time. We start on time, and we end on time — every single week without exception. If you need to arrive a few minutes late, join the waiting room and we'll let you in at the next transition point.
3. Do I need to have my camera on?
Camera-off is perfectly fine, especially for your first time. We do run a few "cameras on for 30 seconds" moments to build community warmth — but they are always invitations, never requirements. Come as you are.
4. What is the LBY Service Challenge?
The Service Challenge is a 3-step community action model: Serve-Share-Nominate. Serve (identify a local charity you care about. Can't find one? Use CharityNavigator.org. Invite 3 friends to join your team, roll up your sleeves, and go out and serve with that local charity). Share (As you serve, create a short 2 minute video or less of the impact you made through your service), and Nominate (Upload your video on our website: LiveBeyondYou.org. That's it!). Charities nominated through the service challenge are eligible for grants up to $5,000 from the our Humanitarian Grant Pool. Come learn more about the LBY Service Challenge at Community Night.
5. What is the LBY Community Subscription?
LBY Community is a humanitarian driven platform that provides support to bridge the gap between where you are today and any social cause that you want to champion. Our community has the infrastructure, tools, resources, inspiration, and the funding strategy you need to help you alleviate human suffering right in your local area. Try us out for 30 days and see the type of impact you can create!
6. I was nominated by a friend. Do I need a separate link?
No — just register here using the same form. In the "How did you hear about us?" field, select "A friend personally invited me." Our team will connect your registration to your friend's nomination automatically, so you both receive your $25 Merch Store gift cards when you show up live.
7. What if I cant make it live?
Registering is still worth it — we send a follow-up email after the event with key highlights. However, the Free Gift (Initiator's Starter Pack), the Service Challenge breakout, and the special offers are exclusively for live attendees. The community is built in real time, together — we always recommend making the 60 minutes a priority.
